Terms of service
Last updated: 26 August 2026
These terms govern your use of CommerceTrace (“we”, “us”), operated from Romania. By connecting a store you agree to them.
1. What the service does
CommerceTrace reads your Shopify orders and your Google Analytics 4 reporting data, compares them, and reports differences it can identify — orders missing from GA4, duplicated purchase events, and values or currencies that do not match.
2. What it does not do
The service is diagnostic. It does not repair your tracking, modify your store, your theme, your tags, or your Google Tag Manager container. Acting on a finding is your decision, and any change to your store is made by you.
3. Accuracy, and the limits of what can be proven
Findings are graded confirmed, suspected, or inconclusive according to how well the available evidence supports them. This grading is deliberate and material: an inconclusive result means the service does not have enough evidence to reach a verdict, not that your tracking is fine.
We do not warrant that every tracking fault will be detected, nor that every finding reflects a genuine fault. Google Analytics applies processing delays, sampling, thresholding, and data grouping that can hide or distort the underlying data, and the service cannot see what Google does not report.
Findings are information for your own investigation, not financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice, and must not be relied on as a record of revenue. Your Shopify order data remains the record of what you sold.
4. Your responsibilities
- You must be authorised to connect the Shopify store and Google Analytics property you connect.
- You are responsible for keeping your account access secure.
- You must not attempt to access another customer's data, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer it.
- You must not use the service to access a store or analytics property you do not own or administer.
5. Access and availability
The service is currently offered in early access. It may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn, and we do not commit to an availability level during this period.
6. Fees
Early access is currently provided free of charge. If the service becomes paid, we will say so before any charge is made, and you will not be billed for a period you did not agree to.
7. Your data
How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. You keep all rights in your store and analytics data. We use it only to provide the service to you.
8. Ending the agreement
You may disconnect your store and close your account at any time, and doing so ends these terms. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or revenue, or for decisions made on the basis of the service's findings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Third-party services
The service integrates with Shopify and Google Analytics. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Shopify Inc. or Google LLC. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms. Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc.; Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager are trademarks of Google LLC.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, where the service is operated from. Nothing here removes any protection you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
